The Pani Dihing Bird Sanctuary is located in Sivasagar district and spreads over an area of 33.93 sq kms. It is famous for migratory birds such as adjutant stork, fishing eagle etc.

The Karbi Anglong hills are popular for its two wildlife sanctuaries- East Karbi Anglong wildlife sanctuary and Karbi Anglong wildlife sanctuary. The former covers an area of 221.81 sq kms and the other 96 sq kms. The animals commonly found here are elephant, tiger, bison, bear and leopard.

The Laokhowa wildlife sanctuary is 25 kms from Nagaon town and is spread over an area of 70.13 sq kms. Here one can spot the one-horned Indian rhinoceros along with different species of birds and reptiles.

The Joydihing Rainforest is a recently discovered rainforest that falls under the Tinsukia district of upper Assam. It is actually a wildlife sanctuary that comprises the three reserve forests of Joypur, Dirak and Dihing. There are 32 mammal species, more than 300 bird species and other rare/endangered species of wildlife.

Maibong is the erstwhile capital of Kachari rulers and is 338 kilometers from Guwahati and 47 kilometers from Haflong. The two-roofed monumental Ramchandi temple that was constructed in 1761 is the landmark attraction of Maibong.
